Frequently asked questions
LowCostFare is a search engine for low-cost travel from A to B. It compares feasible journeys and shows prices, times and risks. Available transport modes depend on the data sources currently connected.
Once you choose an option, we redirect you to buy from partners or carriers. We do not track the trip after purchase.
We compare the feasibility and price of the journeys found, including mandatory connecting transfers. Travel to the first departure point and optional transport after arrival are not automatically included.
YOLO shows the cheapest feasible journeys found within your time limit. Cheapest · up to 36 h limits travel time. Recommended and fastest options are shown separately.
YOLO trips are the absolute cheapest valid trips found within the full time limit you allow (by default, up to 168 hours one way).
They do not have to be adventurous or slower — they simply have to be the cheapest. We show savings compared with the recommended option only when they genuinely exist.
No. LowCostFare does not sell tickets or flights. The purchase is made directly from the individual partners or carriers we redirect you to.
Low-cost multimodal journeys often combine services from different carriers. If they are not covered by a shared ticket, they must be purchased separately.
You can see the number of purchases before choosing an offer. Multiple purchases do not automatically include connection protection.
Prices come from the available provider data. When only a lower bound is known, we show “from”. If we do not have a reliable price, we say so explicitly.
Unverified costs are listed in the offer details. The seller confirms the final price when you purchase.
Before redirecting, we check availability and price if the provider supports that verification.
If verification detects a price change, we show it before redirecting. Always check the final amount with the seller.
A self-managed connection means that the transfer between connections is not covered by a single joint reservation. You make the transfer yourself and the traveller bears the risk of delays.
LowCostFare does not promise a protected connection unless the provider explicitly confirms it in one reservation.
Before departure, you must be at the correct airport with enough time to spare. We calculate this from your actual arrival at the airport after the local transfer, not from your arrival in the city.
89 minutes and less: we do not show the option at all. 90–119 minutes: we keep the option with a critical (red) warning. 120+ minutes: a normal buffer with no warning.
The only exception is a genuinely protected flight connection within a single reservation, under the carrier's rules.
It depends on the provider's data. For each option, we state what we know about cabin and checked baggage.
If information is missing, always check the carrier's baggage conditions before purchase.
Cheaper options often use ground transport, more journey segments, or an intentional stopover during the trip.
You will always see the duration and the savings compared with the recommended option before choosing.
If a connection requires travel between a station, airport or other locations, we may include walking, public transport, a taxi or an airport transfer. Optional transport after arrival is shown separately.
We show time and price when suitable data is available. We do not invent timetables.
Segments are counted per direction, including main services and mandatory local transfers. The number of changes is the number of segments minus one.
We offer accommodation in the offer details for a meaningful stay during the journey or at the destination. A partner offer opens with your dates and number of guests.
Without live partner data, we do not show an invented price — only an invitation to view available accommodation.
Changes, cancellations, and complaints are handled by the party you bought from — the carrier or partner on its website.
LowCostFare is not the ticket seller and does not manage the reservation after purchase.
